HOW A BELLOW WORKS :

The Metal Bellows is a flexible seal and is designed to flex when Thermal Movements Occur in the piping system. It is the Basic Element of Expansion Joints.

Expansion Joints may be subjected to Axial Movement, Lateral Movement, Angular Movement or any combination of these Movements Thermal or Functional (Mechanical)

AXIAL MOVEMENT (TRAVERSE)

LATERAL MOVEMENT (SHEAR)

ANGULAR MOVEMENT (RADIAL)

The amount of motion parallel to the axis in a straight guided pipeline.

A single plane deflection from the center line of one end of the Bellows, While the other end is kept parallel.

The ends are displaced at an angle 0 to each other than remaining parallel.
